I've been researching my and my wife's ancestors in Blount County, Alabama for many years. I've created this site to share some of this information in a relatively "clean" form.
Genealogical research is never completed. Sometimes in an effort to "complete the family tree", speculation is recorded as fact. While speculation is often the only source for an event, and while speculation can be useful, it should always be documented as such. Family tradition, like speculation, is a valuable source; but it too should be recorded as such. Unfortunately, undocumented speculation is being placed in attractive family histories and genealogical charts by computer programs and some of the result is available on-line. The wise researcher will never accept any data as true unless the source is given.
All information found on this site is documented and speculation is stated as such - if only by using words such as possibly and probably. Please report any oversights or additional documented information which you might have to the Webmaster.
