This site is a repository for genealogy information collected on my surnames and extended family, including probate transcriptions, cemetery information, photographs, marriage records, death certificates, tombstones, Bible records, census information, excerpts from old newspapers and whatever else I run across during my search for family information. Records will be added as time permits.
The site has two main sections. This section, the Blog section, is more document oriented, one might say. It has links to county records, obits, various assemblages of pictures, including family photos, marriage indexes and certificates, and deed records. It also contains miscellaneous tidbits I thought might be interesting to others.
The other section of this site is the Webtrees section, which is more "person" oriented, and based on individuals who are related. In this section, one specifies an individual in order to find information. It contains family trees, bio information, reports and charts based on the chosen individual.
Each section has a different look and feel, so you'll know immediately which part of the site you are viewing.
Descendants Of . . . All My Lines
A genealogy report listing descendants of my ancestors.
Marriage Records
This site currently contains over 280 images from various marriage index books at the courthouse in Jefferson County, Alabama. Most of the images contains 96 marriages, so there are more than 30,000 Jefferson County, Alabama marriages currently on the site. The image title currently shows the first and last name found on the page. The images are in the slow process of being indexed by surname so they will be included in the site search.
Old Photographs
Old photographs will be added as they become available. Currently, there are over 150 old photographs related to the Prince and Vaughn families of Blount County, Alabama, obtained from a cousin, who inherited them from Aunt Maggie Prince. They are being randomly presented in the right hand sidebar of this page. Click on a thumbnail to see a larger image, or browse all the Prince and Vaughn photos in Aunt Maggie's Collection in the Image Gallery. There are also photos from my fathers side of the family.
There were a number of photos in Aunt Maggie's collection that had no names on the back, and living people did not recognize the people or locations. Please check these unidentified photos and see if you recognize any of them. If so, I would love to hear from you!
Probate and Other Records
A number of records from the Probate Office and some from the National Archives, including deed records, and Revolutionary War and War Between the States records can also be found here.
Where did our Ancestor Lines go?
My families are mostly found migrating from Virginia, South Carolina, and North Carolina into Alabama, and then branches of them head "West". Quite a few of them ended up in Texas and California, after stops in Mississippi and Arkansas.
