RAGLAND -  J. T. Arnold Kills Uncle. Pistol Discharges Killing F. V. Alverson on Monday last - No Arrest.

F. V. Alverson, better known as Times Alverson, was shot and killed by his twelve-year-old nephew, John Thomas Arnold, on Monday afternoon last at O. Kay's home one mile north of town. Arnold was standing at a dresser playing with the pistol when by some means the gun discharged, the contents entering Mr. Alverson's right lung, which caused his death Tuesday afternoon. The boy had gone with his uncles to a candy pulling, and as boys are always fond of guns, Mr. Alverson or any of the family did not notice the child until they heard the discharge. Mr. Alverson is survived by his wife and nine children to whom the public extends their deep sorrow. The funeral services were conducted at Macedonia on Wednesday by Rev. Thos. Jordan. Owing to the age of the child and the manner in which the accident occurred, no arrest was made.
