The Jefferson County Alabama marriage index books contain a reference to the actual marriage book and page number where the marriage license can be found.  These marriage licenses usually contain a lot of valuable genealogical information, including dates of birth, parent names, and even where the person worked.

For the years 1941 and 1942, both male and female marriages are in the same book. All the male marriages are in the front, and all the female marriages are in the back. The marriages in this book stop around October 1942, and these are in the books labeled 1943-1956 on this site.
