MRS. MAURICE CHAMLIS, 61, passed away September 17 [1979]. She is survived by her husband, Ellis Chamlis, Ragland, daughter Miss Alice Chamlis of Ragland, three sisters, Mrs. Viola Phillips, Mrs. Leona White, both of Ragland and Mrs. Joyce Tuck of Oneonta.

Also, two brothers, Joe Gay Campbell and Frazier Campbell, both of Ragland.

Brown, Samuel Edward, d.1979

SAMUEL EDWARD BROWN, 46, of Ragland, died Monday, June 25 [1979].

Brown is survived by his widow, Mrs. Gaylon Phillips Brown; two sons, Jim Edward and Keith Elbert Brown; and one daughter, Miss Samantha Brown, all of Ragland.

Other survivors include his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Elbert Brown of Pell City; and two sisters, Mrs. Doris Parnell of Ragland, and Mrs. Elizabeth Walker of Mobile.

MELVIN, CURTIS F., age 67, of Trafford died Saturday, March 14, 1998.  He was a retired tool and die maker for Westinghouse.  Funeral services Tuesday, March 17 at 2:00 pm at Masseyline Church of God.  William Dollars, officiating.  Burial in Masseyline Cemetery.  Visitation Monday, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.  The body will lie in state at the church on Tuesday, from 1:00 pm until service time.  Messmer Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Prince rites set; well-known dressmaker
Graveside service for nationally known Alabama dressmaker, Mrs. Claude McKey Prince, 69, who died Friday, will be at 3pm Thursday at Elmwood, Johns-Ridout’s Southside directing.

A native of Braden Springs, she was a Mobile resident 30 years before moving to Birmingham, where she lived at 1524 Shades Crest Road.

Howard H. Lucas, 59, of Jacksonville, Fla, who died Friday, was a Montgomery native and had lived in Jacksonville eight years. He was an employee of Bethlehem Steel and a veteran of World Warr II. Funeral will be at 3 pm Monday at Roebuck Chapel, with burial in Forest Hill. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Melanie Morgan and Miss Karen Lucas, both of Jacksonville, Fla; a son, Charles H. Lucas, Atlanta;his mother Mrs. Ida Hall Lucas, and his father Howard Lucas.

Carroll J. Watson Killed in Germany
Carroll Jack Watson, 21, was killed by a motorcycle in Ausburg, Germany, March 3. He had been serving with air born division of the U. S. Army in the past three years. He is the son of Mr. And Mrs. Buford Watson, formerly of Bessemer, now living in Westfield near Fairfield. The body will be returned here for funeral services which will be announced.
