Mrs. Julius Poellnitz (Elizabeth Rogers) 1790-1865, of Cheraw Dist, SC; Rembert Hill, Marengo Co, AL, dau of Colonel Benjamin Rogers, who joined Francis Marion’s Raiders at age of 16. Mother of Charles Augustus Poellnitz.

Henry Watson Jr. Papers, 1765-1938 [1861-1938], Greensboro, Alabama, [and Massachusetts]

Henry Watson a native of Connecticut, moved to AL 1833, practiced law in Greensboro 20 years, moved to Northampton, Mass when the civil war broke out. Came back after the war, divided his time between Mass and Ala, relied on overseers to manage plantation. Son Frederick Watson b.1846 had correspondence with his sister Julia about happenings around Briarfield Iron Works, and his brother Arthur. Frederick remained in Selma until his father died in 1891.
