Death of Mr. Higginbotham.
Jasper Holloway Higginbotham was born in Blount County, Alabama, on the 10th day of March, 1852 and died at his home in Frisco, Texas, Feb 7th, 1923 in the 71st year of his age. The subject of his sketch was united in marriage on the 21st day of Nov. 1877 to Miss Nancy E. Hendricks of Alabama. To this union six children have been born. Three of whom are still living: Mrs. Gussie McGuire of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Jean Thomas of Sentinel, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Mack Fisher of Frisco. Twenty-seven years ago Mr. And Mrs Higginbotham moved from their native state to Collin county, Texas, and settled on a farm one and a half miles northwest of what is now the town of Frisco. At the age of twenty-five years Mr. Higginbotham was converted and united with the Methodist church and which he was a consistent member until his death. He was a man who honored his religion and the Author of his religion. And in turn he was honored by his brethren and his church. During his life time he has held the three important offices of his church: Superintendent of Sunday school, Steward and trustee. And he made faithful and efficient accounts in them all. He was a man who held the loving respect of the community. Quiet and unassuming, not a great talker and yet a thoughtful man he took an earnest interest in his family, his town and his community. He will be missed in all the walks of life; however, in none so much as in the dear home he helped to make so real, to his companion and his children who will miss his kindly presence in the days that are to come. (The above is from a Texas paper. Mr Higginbotham had many relatives and friends in this county who will be pained to learn of his death. --Editor.)
