ENROLLED, House Joint Resolution,
COMMENDING REVEREND DOUGLAS FRANKLIN FORD, PASTOR OF HARDIN'S CHAPEL BIBLE CHURCH, RAGLAND, ALABAMA, FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO HIS CHURCH.
WHEREAS, Reverend Douglas Franklin Ford is a wonderful, dedicated servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His church, and he deserves to be recognized for the difference his presence has made to countless individuals as pastor of Hardin's Chapel Bible Church, in Ragland, Alabama, for 50 years; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Ford has been an inspiration to his church family as a true symbol of strength, love, and commitment to the Lord, and under his spiritual leadership and guidance, Hardin's Chapel Bible Church has grown and flourished in all aspects of its ministry and witness; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Ford loves God with all his heart, soul, mind and strength, and, in an extension of his untiring efforts on behalf of his church, a new debt-free church was built and dedicated on May 20, 1984, and, through his labor in countless areas of Christian service, the Hardin's Chapel Youth Ministry was established and a debt-free activity center built; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Mildred Edge Ford, the devoted wife of Reverend Ford for 59 years, also is praised for her extraordinary accomplishments as a pastor's wife and companion, and for her compassion and exemplary leadership in numerous Christian activities at Hardin's Chapel Bible Church; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Ford and her husband are the proud parents of six children, Carolyn, Becky, Steve, Dan, Tim, and Sam; they also enjoy spending time with their 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, indeed, Reverend and Mrs. Ford are shining examples of Christianity, who have continued throughout the years to put God first in their life and to abide by the principle that anything can be done through faith and prayer; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That in praise and gratitude, and in recognition of outstanding commitment and service to the gospel of Jesus Christ, this resolution of highest commendation is presented to Reverend Douglas Franklin Ford, Pastor, Hardin's Chapel Bible Church in Ragland, Alabama, with sincere best wishes and God's richest blessings.
