Robert B. Kennedy, 83, of New Castle, died Saturday.  A Tennessee native, Mr. Kennedy lived in Birmingham most of his life.  He was retired from the U. s. Postal Department.  Funeral will be 2p.m. today at Brown-Service, Norwood, with burial in Moncrief Cemetery.  Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Helen Lais and Mrs. Ruth Allen, both of Birmingham, Mrs. Imogene McCulley, Fultondale, and Mrs. Lois Cook, Huntsville; a son, James Robert Smith, Birmingham, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Edith Howard, Birmingham.

KENNEDY - Kenneth Kennedy, age 20, Newcastle, Ala., passed away Monday a.m. at a local infirmary.  Survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Kennedy, 4 sisters, Helen, Imogene, Lois Earle and Euphamia Kennedy.  Funeral services Tuesday 2:30 p.m. from the Providence Methodist Church.  Interment adj. cemetery.  Johns-Service in charge.

James Vaughn Dead.
James Vaughn, son of Rev. and Mrs. Richard Vaughn, of Trafford, R. 1, died at their home Saturday, June 21, aged 21 years.  It is said he died from the effects of a relapse of the measles.  He was a splendid young man, member of the C. P. Church, and had many friends.  The funeral services were conducted by Rev. T. B. Nation of Oneonta, interment at Bethlehem cemetery.  The services were attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends.  The Democrat joins friends of the family in extending sympathy to the grief stricken parents in their great loss.

Huffstutler, J.M., Died 24 Jun 1908; J.M. Huffstutler, brother of our townsman, Thomas Huffstutler, died in Birmingham, June 24th from the effects of a stroke of paralysis received some time ago. The deceased is survived by a wife and eleven children, four sons and seven daughters. He was employed as conductor on the Powderly-Bessemer line for several years and had acquired a wide acquaintance and become very popular among the patrons of that line. The remains were carried to Adville, this county, and interred at Tabernacle cemetery.

HIGGINBOTHAM, SARAH FRANCES REYNOLDS, age 86, passed away December 15, 2007. She was a homemaker and beloved mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Dr. Robert W. Higginbotham (Shelley), J. T. Higginbotham (Linda), Col. W. N. Higginbotham, Ret. (Jane), and Andrew R. Higginbotham (Jo Ann); daughter, Sue Rejonis; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Graveside service will be held Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Remlap Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2007 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Ridout's Roebuck Chapel.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Charlie and Dora (Self) Higginbotham, Brothers, Raymond Higginbotham, Rev. Wilber D. Higginbotham, Billy Higginbotham, sister, Edna Tidmore, husbands, Robert S. Anderson, Charles Findley and Robert L. Dawson. Survivors include daughters, Nancy (Ernest) Downs, Jane (Larry) Morton, Carmen (Gene) Rooker. 9 grandchildren, Keith (Cindy) Morton, Kenneth (Penelope) Morton, Karmen (Michael) Fischbach, Jeff (Melissa) Downs, Steve (Tracy) Downs, Laura Wald, Terry (Kim) Rooker, Mark Rooker, Rebecca (Jeff) Taylor. Also surviving are 20 great grandchildren, sister, France Cooley and sister-in-law Patsy Higginbotham, a host of nieces and nephews, friends, and special friends at Covenant Place of Gardendale, AL. where she lived for the last 5 years. Visitation will be on Mon. the 7th from 1-2pm and services will follow at Bradford Sanctuary of Praise in Pinson. Burial in Hopewell Cemetery. Jefferson Memorial, Trussville, directing.

W. R. Gray

William Robert Gray, 87, of San Antonion, Tex., formerly of Birmingham, died Monday in a San Antonio hospital.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Macedonia Baptist Church in St. Clair County. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, Brown-Service Norwood directing.

Mr. Gray was a native of St. Clair County.

Survivors include a brother, Arthur F. Gray, Tarrant; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Chamlis, Oakland, Calif.; Mrs. Zady Gibbs, Birmingham, and Mrs. Dillann Phillips, Ragland.
